The trunnion ball valve (TBBV) is a type of quarter turn valve that has a fixed, perforated or partly flexible ball to regulate water flow in it. It usually has a seal at the outlet to provide an added seal when water pressure is applied to the device. A trunnioned valve is basically a semi-permanent valve and will not open or close when the fluid level rises or falls.
